Taieizan Ryusenji Temple (Meguro Fudo)

In the Edo period (1603-1868), many ordinary people visited Meguro Fudo-son to pray.
According to the "Toto Saijiki" published in 1832, Daikokuten was enshrined in the precincts of Meguro Fudo-son, together with Ebisujin, making the temple very popular as one of the destinations of the New Year's "Seven Gods of Good Fortune Tour".
Even today, on the 28th of every month, the temple is lined with many stalls, reminiscent of the bustle that has continued since the Edo period.
Meguro Fudo-son is one of the five fudos (Meguro, Mejiro, Meaka, Meikoku, and Meisei), and was important to the Shogunate providing all round protection to the Edo castle and the five highways starting from Edo (Tokyo).
