Onuma Quasi-national Park

Onuma Quasi-National Park, selected as one of the new Nihon Sankei (New three most scenic spots in Japan), comprises Mount Komagatake, a volcano that is still active to this day, and the lakes and marshes that lie at its base: Onuma, Konuma, and Junsai-numa being the main ones. The large and small islands in the park were created by Mount Komagatake’s eruptions. Mountain and water scenery, richly varied as it changes through each of the four seasons, offers the gift of beauty to all that behold it.
