Remains of the US Military Ballistics Command Post

When the Japanese Cabinet decided to use the dunes as a test firing site for the US forces in Japan, protesters and support groups conducted a sit in demonstration and fought with the police.

After use of the beach for test firing for almost 4 years between the 18th March 1953 and the 12th January 1957 the beach finally returned to normal on the 30th of March 1957.

The former US command centre still remains today.
