Former House of Shirou Takenouchi and Nagayamon Gate

The Takenouchi family was licensed as a wholesaler of Chita cotton from the Edo period and was engaged in wholesale business mainly in Edo.
It owned four warehouses, the oldest of which was built during the Tenmei era (1781–1789).
The Nagayamon Gate was built between the late Edo period and the early Taisho period, with a two-tiered roof that served as a peephole for the gatekeeper and a residence for the employees.
