Memorial to Ishikawa Takuboku Monument and Gallery

Ishikawa Takuboku, a Meiji era poet, lived here until 1912, when he died of pulmonary tuberculosis at the young age of 26.
The monument and gallery here were established in 2015.
Takuboku's final two poems are reproduced in his handwriting on the face of the monument.
In the gallery, visitors can learn about Takuboku's journey and see reproductions of his handwritten manuscripts.
