Tsurushi Green Park (Disaster Prevention Park)

The park has playground equipment for children, including a slide and water playground, as well as a barbecue area and camping sites, making it a facility that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike.
It also has one of the largest pump track courses in Japan, which can be enjoyed by beginners and professionals alike.
The Tsurushi district, which was severely damaged by the tsunami from the Great East Japan Earthquake, has been developed to promote a disaster-resistant community under the themes of “disaster mitigation,’ ‘promotion of exchange,” and “earthquake archive.”
The Hill of Remembrance in the park is 10 meters high, which is equivalent to the height of the tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake, and is home to a cenotaph and a monument to the disaster.
The Reconstruction Flag displayed there began as a flag of the Rising Sun found by the Self-Defense Forces in the rubble after the tsunami, with many messages of support written on it.
