Shinchi Castle Ruins

This was built by the Soma clan in the Muromachi era and was the scene of battles between the Soma and Date clans during the Warring States period.
It is also called Minokubi Castle because the layout of the main castle and the buildings surrounding it resembled the shape of an outstretched straw raincoat.
The castle does not exist anymore and only the castle ruins remain today.
Around mid-April every year, a Tulip Festival is held, with 40,000 tulips of about 40 varieties in full bloom.
