Shinchi Energy Center
Shinchi Town is engaged in "environmentally symbiotic reconstruction community development through local production for local consumption of energy.”
The Shinchi Energy Center is a facility that uses natural gas from the Soma LNG terminal to produce and supply heat and electricity for use in the Kankai Hall, Kankai Plaza, and other nearby facilities, and also supplies electricity to the community as an independent power source in the event of a disaster.
The facility is open for tours (advance reservation required).
