Tateishi Menhir (megalith)

In the center of Sanshuen Park at the foot of Mt. Tateishi is a giant stone (menhir) said to have been cherished as a god since the Yayoi period.
This type of rock is unique to the surrounding area, and folklore has it that Deitarebotchi (a giant of legend in many parts of Japan) dropped it when he was playing otedama (a traditional children's game similar to jacks) with a giant stone.
