Zoshigaya Cemetery

Opened by the Tokyo government on the 1st of September, 1912 as Zoshigaya Grave.
In 1935 was renamed Zoshigaya Cemetery.
Within the cemetery grounds, there are many famous authors laid to rest, such as Natsume Soseki, and many visitors come on historical purposes throughout the year.
Additionally, within the cemetery there stands many giant Japanese Zelkova trees, and the lush greenery is quite relaxing.
In the Edo period, it was used as a animal breeding ground, called the Otaka-beya, and that history can still be felt today.
