Ike-Sunpark (Toshima Midori Evacuation Park)

As the former site of Japan Mint Tokyo office, Ike-Sunpark is the largest park within the ward, constructed in December, 2020.
Generally used as a rest and leisure area for local citizens, the largest lawn-covered park in the ward is also used as an evacuation point in the event of a natural disaster, with a heliport and other locations for distribution and reception of life saving disaster supplies.
In addition, there are disaster stockpile warehouses, disaster toilets, water tanks in event of an earthquake, and deep wells.
The on-site café with open seating and a terrace lets visitors enjoy their meal while looking out at the wide field.
The small shop KOTO-PORT also has a variety of food and drink available for purchase.
Furthermore, in line with the plan to achieve the Self-Defence Force’s SDGs, Saitama has launched the IKE SUNPARK Farmers Market, which deals exclusively in fresh produce and goods.
