Hakuchoryo Kofun

Also called the Maenoyama Kofun, it is a large keyhole-shaped burial mound with a length of 200 m, built in the latter half of the 5th century.
At the beginning of construction, the surrounding moat was encircled by an embankment on the outside, and, furthermore, there was another moat encircling the embankment.
The mound was built in three stages, had rows of cylindrical haniwa, and the soil over it was covered with a layer of stones.
From the Takenouchi Highway running just north of the burial mound, visitors can enjoy a close-up view of the wide moat and magnificent mound, and experience the charm of the burial mound associated with the Swan (=Hakucho) Legend.
