Yono: The Collected Grave Markers of Yusenji Temple

Starting from around 1955 (Showa 30), Yusenji Temple began to collect various unrelated stone pagodas and stone Buddhas scattered around the Yono District.
About 200 of them are stacked in a square pyramid shape.
Among them are some Hokyoin pagodas engraved with the year 1355 (Bunwa 4) and four pieces confirmed to have traits characteristic of the Era of Northern and Southern Courts and the Muromachi Period.
Furthermore, one stone five-ringed stupa tower engraved with the year 1373 (Oan 6) has been confirmed.

There are classic sightseeing trails through this area.
One trail visits the Thirteen Buddhas of Yono and the collected grave markers, strolls through the Nomaguchi, Maki, and Terada Districts, goes around the Kirihata District and returns, and a second trail runs in a circle that starts from Kirihata and Omaru and goes through the Kishiro District.
Please enjoy the nature, history, and culture of the local area.
