A wild dance of fireflies renowned as a top-class act in Japan

A certain area of Hokubo Firefly Park is a firefly village that exemplifies Okayama prefecture and has even been selected for inclusion in the Ministry of the Environment's Top 100 Villages of Living Things in a Hometown.
From early to late June, you can enjoy the sight of Genji fireflies flying along the Bitchu River. The wild dance of Genji fireflies, continuing over several km in this area, is said to be the best in Japan, and it is stunningly beautiful.
The park also has models and photos on display that explain the lives of fireflies.
