Kiyamaji Temple belongs to the Shingon sect established by Kobo Daishi and was built in 815 (the 6th year of the Konin era).
It is the 4th amulet-issuing temple of the 88 temple pilgrimage in the western part of Japan, and it is dedicated to the worship of the Healing Buddha Lapis Lazuli Light Tathagata.
Structures such as the gate of eternal youth, the hall enshrined with a statue of Kobo Daishi, and the reception hall were built during the Edo period and remain at present, so you will be able to sense a sublime atmosphere.
