A statue of thirty-three Kannon images and a statue of Kondo Isami
The Saiko-ji temple is a Tendai-sect.
It is said that when Isami Kondo headed for Kofu while leading the Shinsengumi (this is their old name, they were ordered to rename themselves to the Koyochinbutai by the Shogunate), he was hailed at a private house across from Saiko-ji temple and he rested there for a while.
The seated statue of Isami Kondo in front of the gate was built in 2001 to commemorate the 130th year of his death.
