Study the nearby shores in the region
Mizubenogakko opened on May 17th, 2015, as a project promoted through the collaboration of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism; Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology; and Ministry of the Environment. The purpose of the project is to promote children's environmental studies and nature activities along the nearby shores in the region.
Mizubenogakko is adjacent to Nakagawa Yashio Flower Park and is set out with waterways and a walkway that is about 540 meters long for one lap. One can enjoy a walk while coming into contact with the natural environment of Nakagawa.
During events, one can experience canoe rides and sightseeing on Japanese-style ships.
In March 2023, Mizubenogakko was set out with underwater walkways to use during a disaster, so it can now be used as a place for children to learn about the fearfulness of water during a disaster and not just as a place for children to regularly enjoy the natural environment of a shore.
