Shiroyama is a mountain of 186 meters in altitude, where Imaisurugi Castle used to stand.
The mountain is now a park.
The park is famous for its cherry blossoms. About six hundred cherry trees blossom in spring, and the park becomes lively with cherry blossom-watchers.
Standing by the entrance to Shiroyama is Imaisurugi Middle School, another place of interest.
The school’s building is designed to look like some old, European structures, such as castles in Switzerland and the Big Ben in England.
