Ashigawa Bridge with historical value
This Ashikawa Bridge was rebuilt and preserved the Ishibashi that was built on the Tokaido during the Edo period.A small bridge with a length of 2.5 m and a width of 2 m.
It has also been selected as one of the 100 Kanagawa Bridges.
The Tokaido is a highway built under the direction of Ieyasu Tokugawa during the Edo period, connecting Edo, where the general was, to Kyoto ,where the emperor was.
It was an important road.
Now you can see Lake Ashi from Ashikawa Bridge.

Waterfowl Coot
In fact, various water birds live in Lake Ashi.This bird, with its black body and red eyes, is called a coot (Fulica atra).
The bird's feet that are good at swimming are very distinctive.
Coot's feet are called Lobate and the toes are covered by a membrane called the leaflet.
These feet are catching water in the water and moving forward.
