Established thirty-five years ago, TAMON is a relatively new soba shop in the Jindaiji area, and it is located by the entrance of the Jindai Botanical Garden along Jindaiji-dori (street).This soba shop is perfect for when you crave for a larger-than-usual serving of soba.
People form long lines here at lunch time.
Popular menu items include TAMON’s original “soba zosui” and a wide range of sweets.

TAMON’s soba noodles are firm and thin, and they match well with the special soup that is slightly on the sweet side.The medium-size serving has almost two times the usual amount of noodles, the large serving about three times, making this place popular among people who want to fully satisfy their cravings.

“Tamon soba” uses the “2 to 8” soba noodles that TAMON is passionate about. The relatively thin noodles have a satisfying texture to the throat with a wholesome and distinctive flavor of soba.“Tenzaru” is a set meal coupling cold soba noodles with five types of freshly-fried tempura (prawn, squash, shitake mushroom, sweet green pepper, and eggplant).
“Soba zosui” is a rare type of porridge that uses buckwheat grains instead of rice. The bonito broth and the flavor of crab add an exquisite umami taste to it.
Also recommended are the specialty sweets such as the matcha green-tea anmitsu with cream and rice-cake pearls and the soba dango made with 100% soba flour.

【A message from Tamon】Our shop has a homey atmosphere where you can enjoy a wide variety of sweets in addition to soba.
The first floor has tables with chairs, and the second floor has zashiki-style seating that is good for large groups.
The pleasant outdoor tables and the spacious zashiki area are both perfect for people with small children.
We have a designated parking lot next to our shop. Do visit us if you happen to come to Jindaiji to see its beautiful nature.
