There are many gardens of high artistic value in Koyasan, including those created by famous gardeners of the Edo period (1603-1868) and those designated for their scenic beauty.
Beginning with the Banryutei garden at Kongobuji Temple, the lodging houses have a variety of gardens that have each been carefully designed to make the most of the surrounding nature and terrain.
One of the charms of Koyasan is that you can enjoy the scenery during all four seasons: various spring and summer flowers in bloom, autumn leaves, and winter snow.
