The main hall of Saijo-ji temple is called “Gokokuden” and was rebuilt in 1954.
It was designed by Chuta Ito, a leading Buddhist architect in the Showa era, with a frontage of about 27 meters and a depth of about 22 meters.
The principal image, a statute of Syaka Nyorai (Buddha), is enshrined along with statues of Monju Bosatsu (Bodhisattva) and Fugen Bosatsu (Bodhisattva)to his sides.
The main hall is a place where “Shakyamuni triad” is enshrined.
It also serves as a hall for morning and evening devotional exercises as well as an auditorium where the chief priest preaches to visitors.
