The priest hall is a building within temples and is often installed especially in Zen temples, and there the priests live together and devote themselves to Zen training.
It is called a priest hall because “Monju Bosatsu (Bodhisattva)” is enshrined there.
Furthermore, this is a special monastery for training in which monks train for a certain period of time to get a professional priest qualification.
This is one of the Soto sect’s special monasteries, out of their 29 monasteries throughout the country.
