Yagi Fuda-no-tsuji

Japan's oldest national road intersection.
It has been a strategic point of transportation since ancient times and is the intersection of "Shimotsudo" and "Yoko-oji."
In the Edo period (1603-1867), the area was very busy with pilgrimages to Ise and Omine, and the road leading from Kawachi to Ise, including Yoko-oji, was also called "Ise-kaido" or "Hatsuse-kaido".
The inn that once stood at Yagi Fudanotsuji can now be seen as the Yagi Fudanotsuji Exchange Center.
