FY 2025 “New Year! Kite-Flying with Renkachan!” at Shiawase-no-Mori Park Viewing Plaza – Call for Participants
Katsuragi City will host a New Year event where participants can make their own original kites and fly them high in the sky together from the viewing plaza at Shiawase-no-Mori Park.
You can create a one-of-a-kind kite and enjoy the beautiful sight of the sky filled with color together with your family and friends.
On the day of the event, the city mascot “Renkachan” will also try her hand at kite-flying, so let’s celebrate the New Year together.
We look forward to your participation.
Advance application is required to participate.
In case of rain, a kite-making workshop and a traditional-games experience session will be held in the multipurpose room at Michi-no-Eki Katsuragi.

- Workshop where you can make your own original kite
- Group kite-flying at the viewing plaza
- Corner where you can experience traditional Japanese games

The event will take approximately 2 hours.

10 groups
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applications will close once the capacity has been reached.
Before the application period begins, the online application form will display “Not open to the public”.
Notes
(1) Participants will walk from the reception area to the viewing point.
There is a long staircase of about 180 steps, so please wear comfortable clothes and shoes that are suitable for walking.

The online application form will be available from 9:00 a.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025.
If multiple people are applying together, please have a representative submit the application.
Children of junior high school age and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

From 9:00 a.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025
until 12:00 noon on Tuesday, December 23, 2025
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and will close once the capacity has been reached.
