What You Will Experience
Under the careful guidance of student sumo wrestlers and former sumo wrestlers, participants can learn sumo ring etiquette and practice basic sumo movements. These include shiko, the traditional leg-stomping exercise; suriashi, a sliding-foot movement; and butsukari-geiko, a form of pushing practice.
On the final day, Sunday, August 23, participants will have the opportunity to try sumo bouts with other members of the class.
