Ryusenji Temple

The Ryusenji temple, founded by Soga Umako, is said to have been rebuilt by Kobo Daishi.
At the end of the approach is the vermilion lacquered Niomon Gate, built in the mid-Kamakura period (1185-1333) and designated as an important cultural property in 1961.
To the northwest of the temple grounds is the Ryusenji Garden, which was designated as a historic site, a place of scenic beauty and a natural monument in 1981.
The garden is a pure land style garden and shows the influence of the pre-Nanbokucho period.
