Miyatoko Marshland

Miyatoko Marshland is one of the best 100 green landscapes of Fukushima and a small marshland of 8 hectares spreading at an altitude of 850 meters.
This is a valuable marshland, where you can observe the developmental stage of marshlands at a low, mid, and high altitude at one place.
You can appreciate lots of alpine plants, including skunk cabbages and eastern skunk cabbages in and after May, and cotton grasses and water lilies in June.
In 1980, the marshland was designated as a nature protection and preservation area of Fukushima Prefecture (special district).
