The Yasukuni-jinja Shrine was originally a "Shotonsha" built in 1869 at the behest of Emperor Meiji to commemorate and honor the war dead of the Meiji Restoration.
In 1879, it was renamed the "Yasukuni Shrine".
It now enshrines the souls of those who died in wars up to World War II
In the precincts of the shrine, the "Yushukan" exhibits relics of the deities and historical materials.

Approx. 10 minute walk from the west exit of the Iidabashi Station and the Ichigaya Station on the JR Chuo and Sobu Lines.
Approx. 5 minute walk from Exit 1 of the Kudanshita Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line, Hanzomon Line, Toei Shinjuku Line.
10 minute walk from the Exit 4 of the Ichigaya Station on the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line, Nanboku Line, Toei Shinjuku Line.
10 minute walk from the Exits A2 and A5 of the Iidabashi Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line, Yurakucho Line, Namboku Line Iidabashi Station.
