Yokosuka Kaikoku Fireworks Festival 2025

The Yokosuka Kaikoku Fireworks Festival 2025 will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 5:55 pm to 6:30 pm.
From offshore in Yokosuka New Port, the award-winning pyrotechnics company Margō—recognized for its top performance at the Sumida River Fireworks competition—will launch about 10,000 fireworks, making this the largest fireworks display on the Miura Peninsula. Visitors can enjoy impressive large spherical shells and spectacular rapid-fire starbursts, filling the autumn night sky with brilliant colors over the sea.

Official viewing areas include Umikaze Park(うみかぜ公園) and other nearby locations. Recommended spots are the wide lawns of Umikaze Park and Mikasa Park(三笠公園), where the historic battleship Mikasa is preserved. These seaside parks offer open views and a festive atmosphere unique to Yokosuka, a port city with a rich international character.

Fireworks festivals are a beloved tradition in Japan, where people gather with family and friends, spread picnic sheets, and often enjoy food from festival stalls while watching the show.
Note: The event will be canceled in case of stormy weather. No postponement date is scheduled.
