ANA Windsurfing World Cup 2026 in Yokosuka: High-Speed Racing, Halloween Fun, and Seaside Food Markets

The Fly! ANA Windsurfing World Cup YOKOSUKA MIURA Japan returns to Tsukuihama Beach in Yokosuka from October 31 to November 4, 2026.

Around 80 of the world’s top professional windsurfers will compete in high-speed foil slalom races, with the 2026 foil slalom world title at stake. Spectators can watch from the beach as athletes race across the water on boards that appear to fly just above the waves.

This year’s opening day falls on Halloween, bringing special decorations, street performances, and free face painting to the venue.

Visitors can also explore a European food and shopping market, sample regional specialties from across Japan, and enjoy boat excursions offering a different view of the competition.

Whether you’re a windsurfing fan or simply looking for a day out by the sea, there’s plenty to enjoy beyond the races.

Please check the official event website and social media channels for the latest updates before visiting.

Watch the World’s Top Windsurfers Race Across the Water

The competition features foil slalom, a high-speed form of windsurfing in which athletes race around a series of course markers before crossing the finish line.

Their boards are equipped with hydrofoils—underwater wings that lift the boards above the surface as they gain speed. By reducing water resistance, this technology allows competitors to glide across the sea at high speeds.

One of the most exciting moments comes as the racers approach the first course marker. With several athletes converging at once, choosing the right line and executing a precise turn can make the difference between gaining positions and falling behind.

The competition follows a tournament format. A typical heat features eight racers, with the top four advancing to the next round. Multiple races are held as conditions allow, and the overall results determine the final standings.

Even if you’ve never watched windsurfing before, the close racing and dramatic turns make it easy to follow the action from shore.
