Japan–U.S. Friendship Yokosuka Spring Festa 2026
Japan–U.S. Friendship Yokosuka Spring Festa 2026 is a rare opportunity to enter a portion of U.S. Navy Yokosuka Base and enjoy American-style food stalls and stage events.
Please read the entry rules carefully before you go. ID checks and security screening apply, and crowds are expected.

Depending on conditions, the base may close the waiting line early and end admission earlier than scheduled. Please arrive with extra time.
Access

There is no parking. Please use public transportation.
・Keikyu Shioiri Station: about a 15-minute walk
・Keikyu Yokosuka-Chuo Station: about a 10-minute walk
・JR Yokosuka Station: about a 25-minute walk
The “Mikasa Loop Bus” is also mentioned as convenient for travel around Mikasa Park.
Entry Requirements
・No advance registration required.
・Approved identification is required to enter the base. If you do not bring acceptable ID, you will not be admitted.
・A driver’s license alone is not accepted. Please check the official Yokosuka tourism page in advance to confirm the required ID for every person in your group.
・Guests who are neither Japanese nor U.S. nationals may be denied entry depending on the base’s nationality verification.
・ID checks and baggage screening (including metal detector screening) are conducted at entry, and heavy crowds are expected.
・There is no baggage storage for prohibited items at the venue.

Last entry is scheduled until 15:00. Depending on base decisions and crowd conditions, the waiting line may close early and the venue may close earlier than scheduled.
On-site Restrictions
・No entry with skateboards or bicycles.
・Drone flights are prohibited in and around the venue.
・No pets are allowed on base.
・Service dogs (guide dogs, assistance dogs, and hearing dogs) may be admitted if the handler brings the required certificate on the day.
・Fireworks/explosives, hazardous items, alcohol, and glass bottles are prohibited.

Ship tours are currently listed as “to be determined.” If held, ID will be checked again before boarding.
In past years, long lines formed and reception tended to end around 13:00 depending on crowd conditions.
Eligibility
・Height 120 cm (about 3 ft 11 in) or taller
People who cannot board (safety reasons)
・Anyone who cannot walk independently (wheelchair, cane, walker, etc.)
・Anyone who has been drinking
・Pregnant guests
・Guests wearing high heels or roller shoes
・Guests wearing kimono or yukata
Ship tour rules
・You may be asked to present your ID again before boarding. Keep it with you.
・No smoking and no eating or drinking.
・Parents/guardians must not take their eyes off children.
・There are no restrooms onboard.
・Do not run.
・Follow the designated route. Going against the route is prohibited.
・No walking while using your smartphone.
・Watch your step because there are level differences. Hold the handrail on stairs.
・Large bags are not allowed. Do not leave baggage unattended.
・Tripods are not allowed, but photography is permitted.
・Follow staff instructions.
・Please enjoy your time on board.

・Only the listed documents are accepted.
・Documents with an expiration date must be valid.
・Originals only. Copies are not accepted.
・Children under 12 do not need to present identification (any nationality).
A. One document
・My Number Card (Japanese nationals only; Notification Card not accepted)
・Passport (for non-Japanese nationals: must have a residence status stamp; entry may still be denied under base regulations)
・Residence Card (Special Permanent Resident Certificate also accepted; entry may still be denied under base regulations)
B. Japanese driver’s license plus one additional document (two total)

・a) Juminhyo (certificate of residence) with Honseki (registered domicile)
・b) Koseki Kojin-Jiko Shomeisho

・d) Kisai Inji-hyo or Honseki Kakunin Yoshi (issued by a police station; the exact title may differ by police station)
Notes
・The supplemental document must be obtained on or after the issuance date of the driver’s license presented.
・For police-issued documents, please check each police station’s website for issuance hours.
・Police stations do not issue Kisai Inji-hyo on weekends and holidays.
・Driving record certificates and boat licenses cannot be used.
For Yokosuka residents
On the event day, it may take 1–2 hours to obtain a Juminhyo with Honseki at “Yakushoya Chuo (役所屋中央店).” Obtaining it in advance is recommended.

Notes

・Vocational school, university, and prep-school student IDs are not accepted. Please prepare ID under A–C instead.
・Student IDs without a photo are not accepted.
・Digital student IDs are not accepted.
E. Under 12
・Children under 12 do not need to present identification, regardless of nationality.
FAQ on Identification
・If your family enters together, one Juminhyo with Honseki for the family is acceptable.
・For ship tours, you will need to present identification again. If your family separates on base, ensure the person joining the ship tour carries the required document.
・If the Honseki field on the Juminhyo shows only the prefecture, it is acceptable as long as the Honseki field includes part of an address in Japan.
・For non-Japanese nationals, bring a valid passport (with residence status) or a Residence Card (Special Permanent Resident Certificate also accepted). Entry may still be denied under base regulations after ID confirmation.
・If you are 13–18 and do not have a student ID (or only have a digital student ID), prepare ID under A or C.
・On the event day, it may take 1–2 hours to obtain a Juminhyo with Honseki at Yakushoya Chuo.
For Tour Operators and Businesses
・If you are running a bus tour, please confirm that every participant has the required identification.
・This year, due to construction at Mikasa Park, there is no space for food trucks.
