Yokosuka Downtown Kids Festival 2026 will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, around Yokosuka-Chuo. The event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and takes place across several downtown venues, including the area beneath Y Deck, the park in front of Yokosuka City Hall, LIDRE Yokosuka, and the area in front of the Kanagawa Shinkin Bank main branch.

The event will go ahead in light rain and will be canceled in severe weather.

What to Expect

This family-friendly event brings together a variety of stage programs and hands-on activities in central Yokosuka. Because the venues are spread across the downtown area, visitors can explore different parts of Yokosuka-Chuo while enjoying performances, activity booths, and local programs throughout the day. The event area is about a three- to five-minute walk from the east exit of Yokosuka-Chuo Station on the Keikyu Line.

Main Programs

At the area beneath Y Deck, Yokosuka Dance FUNK Vol.5 is scheduled to feature kids’ dance performances and dance battles. Around LIDRE Yokosuka and Mikasa Building Shopping Street, visitors can enjoy market booths, street live performances, food booths, and stage programs. At the park in front of Yokosuka City Hall, the program includes a running clinic led by a former Japan national team athlete, 20-meter sprint timing, and an insole experience. Around the Kanagawa Shinkin Bank venue, the program includes a garapon raffle, a vehicle power supply demonstration, and the Yokosuka-Miura regional qualifying round for the All-Kanagawa Slipper Table Tennis Championship 2026.

A stamp rally will also be held, and anyone can join. Stamp rally sheets will be distributed at each point. Finishers can enter the garapon raffle, and the trading card giveaway is limited to junior high school students and younger. A trading card workshop is also planned at Otaki Kaikan.
