Children’s Summer Program at Memorial Ship MIKASA, 2026
A summer program for children will be held at Memorial Ship MIKASA in Yokosuka from Saturday, July 25, through Sunday, August 16, 2026.
This family event offers children a hands-on introduction to history and everyday life during the Meiji period. Elementary and junior high school students can enter free of charge.
A Summer Program for Families at Memorial Ship MIKASA
Memorial Ship MIKASA is one of Yokosuka’s best-known historic attractions.
Planned activities include a stamp rally, crafts, commemorative photos in military-style uniforms, and a chance to try out a hammock. Families can enjoy these activities together with a tour of the ship during summer break.
A standard tour of the ship takes approximately 30 to 60 minutes. Visitors may wish to allow additional time for the event activities.
JMSDF Band Yokosuka Concert on August 2
A shipboard concert by JMSDF Band Yokosuka will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026.

Access
From Keikyu Yokosuka-Chuo Station:
Approximately 15 minutes on foot.
From JR Yokosuka Station:
Take a bus to the Mikasa Park Bus Stop. Alternatively, take a local bus to the Odakicho Bus Stop, followed by an approximately seven-minute walk.
By car:
Take the Yokohama-Yokosuka Road to Yokosuka IC, continue along the Honcho-Yamanaka Toll Road, and turn left at the Mikasa Park entrance on National Route 16.
