Capture the Appeal of Yokosuka’s Otsu Area | FY2026 Otsu Tourism Photo Contest
The FY2026 Otsu Tourism Photo Contest is now accepting entries featuring the Otsu area of Yokosuka.
Eligible photos must be taken in Ikeda-cho, Otsu-cho, Sakuragaoka, Negishi-cho, Hashirimizu, Maborikaigan, or Mabori-cho.
The contest welcomes photos that capture the appeal of the area, including its beautiful scenery, delicious food, historic places, and the people who live there.
The entry period runs from Wednesday, June 24, through Tuesday, October 13, 2026. All entries must be received by October 13.
Submit a Photo That Captures the Appeal of Otsu
The FY2026 Otsu Tourism Photo Contest is accepting photos taken in the following parts of Yokosuka’s Otsu area:
- Ikeda-cho
- Otsu-cho
- Sakuragaoka
- Negishi-cho
- Hashirimizu
- Maborikaigan
- Mabori-cho

How to Enter
Entries may be submitted either as printed photographs or as digital image data.
Submit a Printed Photograph
Print the photograph at A4 size or larger, then mail it or bring it to the Otsu Administration Center. Please use the entry form printed on the back of the contest flyer.
In-person entries are accepted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays. Entries are not accepted on Saturdays, Sundays, or Japanese national holidays.

Submit Digital Image Data
Digital entries must be at least 2516 × 3544 pixels (approximately 9 megapixels).
Instructions for digital submissions and access to the entry form are available on the Otsu Tourism Association’s official website.
Entry Rules
- Entries must be previously unpublished works.
- For entries submitted in person, write the title, location photographed, your name, address, age, and a daytime telephone number or email address on the back of the printed photo. Students must also include their school name and grade. Students who do not include their school name and grade will not be considered for the Student Special Award.
- Copyright in award-winning works remains with the photographer.
- The organizer may use award-winning works in newspapers, magazines, television programs, websites, promotional items, and other media without obtaining individual permission from the photographer, within the scope necessary for the promotional activities of the Otsu Tourism Association. When an award-winning work is published or displayed, part of the image may be cropped due to layout or display specifications, and the photographer’s name may not be included. Please understand these conditions before entering.
- For entries centered on a person, or that include an identifiable person, the photographer is responsible for obtaining the subject’s prior consent. The organizer will not be involved in obtaining consent. If a dispute arises, the photographer is responsible for resolving it.
- Digital data for award-winning works must be submitted. An award may be withdrawn if the photographer is unable to provide the data.
- Entrants who wish to have their works returned must visit the Otsu Administration Center between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on a weekday from January 2027 onward, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and Japanese national holidays. Works will be returned by mail only when a self-addressed return envelope with the required postage is provided. Works will be discarded on or after April 1, 2027.
- Each person may receive only one award.
- Both edited and unedited entries are accepted. However, please refrain from submitting works that deviate significantly from the actual scenery, including composites incorporating stock materials or excessive alterations made using generative AI. Editing or compositing an entry using another person’s copyrighted material may constitute copyright infringement.
- Entrants who submit multiple works and wish to have a work exhibited must designate one work for exhibition. If no work is designated, the contest office will select the work to be exhibited.
