Yokosuka Kaikoku Fireworks Festival 2026 | 10,000 Fireworks Over Yokosuka
The Yokosuka Kaikoku Fireworks Festival 2026 will take place on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
Around 10,000 fireworks, one of the largest displays on the Miura Peninsula, are scheduled to light up the autumn night sky over Yokosuka.
This year, the fireworks will be launched from offshore in the Heisei area of the Port of Yokosuka. The main viewing area will extend along the waterfront from Shinko Wharf to Umibe Fishing Park, giving visitors more places to watch the display.
Watch the Fireworks From Yokosuka’s Waterfront
The fireworks are scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The three main viewing areas are Shinko Wharf, Umikaze Park, and Umibe Fishing Park.
For 2026, the viewing area has been expanded along the waterfront from Shinko Wharf to Umibe Fishing Park. The expanded viewing area is designed to help spread crowds across the waterfront and make it easier for visitors to move around safely.
Yokosuka Friendship Day Will Not Be Held on the Same Day in 2026
The Yokosuka Friendship Day open-base event at U.S. Navy Yokosuka Base will not be held on the same day as the fireworks festival in 2026.
Visitors will also not be able to watch the fireworks from inside U.S. Navy Yokosuka Base.
There will be no paid viewing seats for the 2026 fireworks festival. Visitors should use the main viewing areas along the waterfront.
