Daffodil Blossoms to Showa Retro: Hiking from Jogashima to Misaki

Embark on a delightful journey from the Daffodil Blossoms Hiking Jogashima to the nostalgic streets of Showa-era Misaki. On January 28, 2024, join us for a picturesque hike, exploring the historic temples and shrines associated with Minamoto-no Yoritomo and the Miura clan. The grand finale awaits in the charming Showa Retro town of Misaki. Make this your first walking adventure of Reiwa 6!

Course Information: Daffodil Blossoms Hiking Jogashima to Misaki

Awazaki lighthouse

The course starts from Keikyu Line Misakiguchi Station, followed by a bus transfer to Jogashima Bus Stop. The journey unfolds through Jogashima Lighthouse and its scenic Hiking Trail, continuing to Uma-no-se (Horseback) Cave Mouth, Umiu Observation Deck, and the restful Prefectural Jogashima Park with restroom facilities. The route then leads to Awazaki Lighthouse, Kitahara Hakushu Memorial Monument, Jogashima Bridge, and the spiritual sites of Daichinji Temple, Honzuiji Temple, and Kounenji Temple.

The exploration concludes with a stroll through the Showa Retro Shopping Street in Misaki, followed by visits to Chakkirako:Misaki Showa Museum. The final stop is Kainan Shrine before dispersing at Misaki Port Bus Stop.

  • Required Information: Course name, postal code, address, name (with furigana), phone number, and age for all participants.

Notes

  • The event may be canceled or the route changed depending on the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
  • Participants must wear masks during the event.
  • Additional costs such as transportation and entrance fees are not included.
  • In case of high demand, participants may be chosen by lottery.
  • The event will be canceled in inclement weather.
  • Please wear comfortable shoes (non-slip sneakers, etc.).

Closing Note

After the event, lunch options are available around Misaki Port. Dispersal to Keikyu Line Misaki-guchi Station takes approximately 15 minutes by bus, costing ¥350. (Approximate distance: 7.5 km with elevation changes)
