JIYU GAKUEN MYONICHIKAN

Jiyu Gakuen Myonichikan was established in 1921 by Motoko Hani and the Yoshikazu Family as a school, with the construction done off famous American Frank Lloyd Wright’s designs.
During the early 1920’s the education portion of the property was relocated, and it almost met its demise due to aging of the building.
However, in 1997 the property received an Important Cultural Property designation by the national government, and is now used by many visitors as a living piece of history to enjoy and preserve at the same time.
Other than simple visitation, the property also rents out individual rooms, as well as hosts events such as weddings, concerts, exhibitions, etc, and continues to make use of the charming property to this day.
