(1) Genbe River


The length of the Genbe River is 1.5 km.
The uppermost stream of the Genbe River is from the "Kohama pond" in the "Rakujuen Park" that is designated as a place of national scenic beauty.

(2) Mitsuishi Shrine


It is said that the Mitsuishi shrine have been founded when "Inari Gods" were enshrined in three gigantic stones on the banks of the Genbe River.

(3) Enmyoji Temple


The Enmyoji temple was founded by Niccho Shonin in 1479 as a temple for the Nichiren sect of Buddhism.
The original mountain gate burned down in a big fire that spread in 1878, and it was replaced with the main gate from the Honjin* of Tokaido Mishima-shuku that was the eleventh of the fifty-three stations of the Tokaido Road during Edo period Japan.

(4) Shinomiya River


The Shinomiya River is a small river diverging from the Genbe River.
It is said that its name is derived from Izu Shinomiya Hirose Shrine.

(5) Toki-no-Kane Bell (Hour Bell)


A hour bell called "Toki-no-Kane" in the precincts of Mitsuishi Shrine located along the Genbe River is considered to be one of the top eight scenes in Mishima, and it has been popular among local people and travelers since the Edo period.

(6) Hasunuma River ("Miya-san’s river")


The source of Hasunuma River is Kohama pond in Rakujuen Park, and the water under Mt. Fuji springs up from there.
The river is called by its nickname "Miya-san’s river" because Rakujuen Park in the old days was used as a second residence of Komatsu-no-miya who was emperor’s family.

(7) Genpei Shirahata Bridge


The Genpei Shirahata Bridge over the Genbe River was a bridge that was counted as one of the “Sunzu (Shizuoka Prefecture) five-colored bridges” in the Edo period.
