A journey through the history of Oiso

The Oiso Festival will be held on November 11, 2023, at the first parking lot of the Oiso Prince Hotel in Oiso Town.
This event allows you to relive the history and culture of Oiso through stage performances, stamp rallies, rickshaw rides, and hands-on workshops. There will also be around 100 craft and food stalls and over 20 food trucks.


What is the Oiso Festival?

The festival's central theme revolves around historical periods, allowing participants to re-experience the history and culture that Oiso Town has steadily been passing on.
It aims to become a new seasonal tradition that vitalizes the local economy (through dining, shopping, and lodging) and preserves a serene vibrancy for future generations.

Shuttle bus service

There will be shuttle buses running directly between Oiso Station, Oiso Port, Ninomiya Station, and the venue on the day of the Oiso Festival. The schedule is as follows:

【Oiso Station】
*1: After arriving at Oiso Station, the bus will depart for Oiso Port.

【Oiso Port】
*2: After arriving at Oiso Port, the bus will depart for Oiso Station.

【Ninomiya Station]】

* The shuttle bus service is free.
* There will be only one bus per time slot. Seats are limited, so you may be unable to board even if you wait in line. Delays may occur due to traffic congestion.
* After the fireworks and Tomikuji lottery, there will only be a limited number of shuttle buses available. The final bus is expected to be very crowded, so please catch an early bus if possible.

(2) The Reiwa Tomikuji Grand Lottery !

The Tomikuji of the Edo period can be considered the ancestor of Japan's modern lottery.
For every 500 yen you spend at the venue, you will receive a lottery ticket, allowing you to participate in the grand lottery where you can chase your dreams.

(3) The booth & food truck area with many local businesses participating

Approximately 100 booths and about 25 food trucks will be open within this area.
Unlike typical street stalls, each welcomes visitors with its own unique design.


(4) The Content Area where you can enjoy hands-on workshops

【Chōchin (Lantern) Making】
Create your own unique lantern by freely drawing or sticking stickers on the paper !
They are not only cute but also very popular with both children and adults !
These lanterns are safe using LED lights !

【Sensu & Uchiwa (Round & Folding Fan) Making】
Draw or apply stickers and tape to your round and folding fans !
You can take your unique creations home as souvenirs from the Oiso Festival, so be sure to make one for an unforgettable experience !

There are also many other attractions, such as the Mini SL (Steam Locomotive), the Mystery-solving Stamp Rally, the Pony Petting Corner, and the Fireworks Display to enjoy !


(5) The Yukari (Connection) Area, where you can enjoy products from sister communities

Across Japan, there are many communities that have historical and ongoing connections with Oiso Town.
This area offers products from these communities.


(6) Rickshaw Test Ride

Experience rickshaw rides operated by proud rickshaw pullers from Jidaiya, a long-established rickshaw company in Asakusa, Tokyo.
Photo spots with Edo baskets & rickshaws and the hosts dressed as stylish figures from the past await you.
