Mamushidzuka Castle Ruin

The castle was initially for the Totomi-Ogasawara clan.
Totomi was fought for between the Tokugawa clan and the Takeda clan, and Takatenjin-jo Castle, a strategic place, came under the rule of Katsuyori Takeda.
As a result, the Mamushizuka-jo Castle was remodeled into a forefront battle castle by Ieyasu Tokugawa.
In those times, this neighborhood was a damp area, and the castle was built on a hill at an altitude of five meters.
The castle comprises the Denkyoyashiki-kuruwa (a castle wall for compounds), Kita-kuruwa-gun (A set of castle walls at the north side of the castle), Funairi-kuruwa (a castle wall for ship entry), and Minami-kuruwa-gun (A set of castle walls at the south side of the castle) surrounded by water moats.
