Kono-ji Temple

Said to have been established by the monk Gyoki during the reign of Emperor Shomu in the year 740, it was thought to have been a famous temple across the country as early as the beginning of the Heian era.
Additionally, it is said that the Bhaisajyaguru (Medicine Buddha) statue of the time was made and enshrined by the monk Gyoki himself.
It is one of the 13 temples in Japan that Emperor Seiwa visited in the 3 regions of Yamato, Yamashiro, and Settsu, and the Shoten shrine inside the complex receives many worshipers praying for the prosperity of their children and fortune in business.
