Kumano Jinja Shrine

The Kumano Jinja Shrine was built around the 5th year of Enbun (1360) by soliciting spirits from the Kishu Kumano Taisha Shrine, and is about 650 years old.
The gods worshipped there are the three pillars of Izanami, Susanoo Hayatama, and Susanoo Hayatama.
The current shrine was rebuilt and donated in 1852 by Kujiro Nakano, a wealthy merchant from Nakagami Village.
In the precincts, there is a ginkgo tree, said to be 400 years old and designated as a Natural Monument by Akishima City.
The festival lion dance of Nakagamikumano jinja Shrine was designated as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Tokyo in Showa 62 because it has precisely preserved ancient culture.
