Kegon Falls
This is a magnificent waterfall where the waters of Lake Chuzenji fall down a 97-meter steep cliff at once.
It is one of Japan's three famous waterfalls.
The waterfall basin can be seen up close from the viewing platform, which can be accessed via elevator.
It packs a punch and lets you see the exciting sprays of water along with roaring sounds.
The fresh green leaves are splendid in May, and many Asian house martins fly around the waterfall in June.
From January to February, the small cascades known as the "twelve waterfalls" freeze, and the whole waterfall is adorned with blue ice, allowing you to have your fill of the scenery that changes in each season.
