Zosenji Temple

There are 600 scrolls of the Mahāprajñāpāramitā Sūtra, copied between 1384 (Eidoku 4) and 1387 (Kakyo 1) during the period of Northern and Southern Dynasties, still in existence, which have been designated a prefectural cultural asset.
It is believed that the Mahāprajñāpāramitā Sūtra is effective in eliminating disasters and bringing universal peace and national stability, and parts of it are recited every summer and winter to ward off epidemics.
