Dainichisan Kongoin Temple

Dainichisan Kongoin Temple, located on the border between Mori Town and Shimada City, is said to have been founded with Dainichi Nyorai made by Gyoki as its principal object of worship.
In the spring of 1907 (Meiji 40), all the halls and buildings were destroyed by fire.
The gate, which fortunately survived the fire, was built in 1837 (Tenpo 8) and is said to be the work of master carpenter Kihei Kurokawa. The materials used in the roof truss show many traces of craftsmanship.
