National Designated Historic Site Matsuyama Castle Ruins

The ruins of Matsuyama Castle, one of the best flatland castles in the Kitamusashi region, were built on the summit of the Hiki Hills.
In 2008, the ruins of Matsuyama Castle were added to those of the Sugaya Castle, (already designated a national historic site), the Sugiyama Castle and the Ogura Castle, to form the "Hiki Castle Ruins".
A swamp, formed by the Ichino River, forms a natural barrier around the castle.
The current layout of the castle results from renovation by the Hojo clan, and much remains in very good condition.
