Yagura-baka Tomb
This is the tomb of Yagura Ufunushi, the great-grandfather of Sho Hashi who was the first king of the Sho clan and who unified the Ryukyu islands.
Yagura Ufunushi was born as the fifth son of the Eiso dynasty and is said to have lived in Kamisato in present-day Gakiya, about 600 years ago.
Katakuma-jinja Shrine was built on the place that he lived.
The tomb takes advantage of the shape of the cave in which it is built and offers views overlooking the sea.
