Former Takenaka-Shouten (Store) and Kura (Storehouse)

Takenaka Shoten dealt in rice, fertilizers, salt, cotton, brooms, colanders, and other sundry goods for household use under the trade name Tambaya from the Edo period.
The main building was constructed in the late Edo period and conveys valuable history.
The warehouse in front of the main building was designed to make it easy for horse-drawn wagons to load and unload their goods and still retains its original appearance.
The inside of the warehouse was protected from rodents and moisture with namakokabe walls but has now been remodeled as a residence.
The adjacent S-shaped road is narrow, making it a show of skill for drivers when festival floats pass by.
It is also a typical scenic spot in Okada.
