Sano Art Museum

Mr. Ryuichi Sano (1889~1977) who was a businessman founded Sano Art museum in 1966.
You can see the harmony of the Japanese ancient wooden architecture and the modern architecture is designed in the architecture; the building features a beautifully simple with the horizontal lines.
The museum's collections are about 2,500 pieces of Japanese and Oriental art, including Japanese masterpiece swords, and some of them are regularly displayed.
There is a Japanese garden called "Ryusen-en" in the site of the Sano Art Museum; it is opened to the public for free once you purchase the museum ticket.
The front gate of Ryusen-en and the Japanese-style house in the garden are designated as tangible cultural properties by the national government.
The facility is now utilized as a place for activities that promote various types of art education; the museum organizes events, including tea ceremony and other cultural workshops.
